Solar Tracker System Installed

The installation of a 9.36 kW photovoltaic ground-mounted tracking system to the East Main Street Water Treatment has been completed.

The project was funded by a grant through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protections Gap II Grant Program.

The photovoltaic tracking system is estimated to provide 14,500 kWh per year of clean renewable power. This would provide approximately $2,020 in bill credits to the water treatment plant’s operating account in the first year and will steadily rise for the next 25 years.

The project was completed due to the work and coordination between multiple departments and boards, including the Middleborough Gas & Electric, Conservation Commission, MassDEP, Water Department and Town Manager's office.
